Ben 10 is an American animated series created by "Man of Action" (a group consisting of Duncan Rouleau, Joe Casey, Joe Kelly, and Steven T. Seagle), and produced by Cartoon Network Studios. The pilot episode aired on December 27, 2005, as part of a sneak peek of Cartoon Network's Saturday morning lineup. The second episode was shown as a special on Cartoon Network's Fridays on January 13, 2006. The final regular episode aired on April 15, 2008. The theme song for the show was written by Andy Sturmer and sung by Moxy. In April 2008, Ben 10 was succeeded by Ben 10: Alien Force. The next installment of the Ben 10 series will be titled Ben 10: Evolution.

PLOT

Ben Tennyson, his cousin Gwen, and their grandfather Maxwell start their summer camping trip. Ben goes stomping off into the woods after another fight with Gwen, whom he is not happy to have along on the trip, and finds an alien pod on the ground. When he examines it, he finds a mysterious, watch-like device, called the Omnitrix. The device attaches permanently to his wrist and gives him the ability to transform into a variety of alien life-forms, each with their own unique powers. Although Ben realizes that he has a responsibility to help others with these new abilities at his disposal, he is not above a little super-powered mischief now and then. Along with Gwen and Max, Ben embarks on an adventure to fight evil, both extraterrestrial and earthly.

OMNITRIX

The Omnitrix is the mysterious watch-like alien device that allows the user to transform into various alien forms by combining the DNA of the selected alien with the user's own DNA, effectively turning them into the alien species the user has selected. The alien form is selected by unlocking the control dial, turning the control dial to the desired alien species which is displayed on the Omnitrix's display, then pressing the control dial back into place completing the transformation. The alien DNA also seems to contain some aspects of the original aliens' personality; when questioned how it felt to be an alien, Ben described it as follows: "It kinda freaked me out at first. It was like I was me... and like I was somebody else." [2] The Omnitrix was originally created by Azmuth (a Galvan like Greymatter) to allow the people of the universe a way to literally "walk in someone else's shoes". However, many beings saw the Omnitrix's abilities as something that could be used as a powerful weapon—most prominently the villain Vilgax who claims it to be the most powerful weapon in the galaxy. Fearing that people might misuse the Omnitrix for this very reason, Azmuth put several safeguards in place to ensure that whoever used the Omnitrix would not have full access to its powers. Several of these safeguards include transforming into an alien different from the one that is selected on the control dial, the ten minute auto time-out, the restriction of only ten accessible aliens, and a self-destruct mechanism. However, these safeguards are disabled once the Master Control for the Omnitrix is unlocked, which is apparently done by a random combination of selections on the control dial. Once the Master Control is unlocked, the user can stay in their alien form indefinitely and is also able to switch between alien forms at will just by thinking about it, speaking the name its user has given any alien, or turning the badge with the Omnitrix insignia on it.

In addition to the aliens that were pre-programmed into the Omnitrix's DNA sequencer by Azmuth, the Omnitrix also possess the ability to absorb DNA samples from other alien species by simply coming into contact with them, effectively downloading a DNA sample and allowing access to that form.

TV FILMS

Two Ben 10 films have been released at different times during 2007 and 2008. The first is a regular animated feature called Secret of the Omnitrix, in which the Omnitrix is accidentally set to self-destruct and Ben must track down its creator to stop it. A trailer of the film was released with the film Billy & Mandy: Wrath of the Spider Queen, and it aired August 10, 2007. Michael Ouweleen described the film's villain, which was actually Vilgax, as "like Darth Vader without the sense of humor."[3] A different version of Secrets of the Omnitrix, which introduced a different alien (Eye Guy) to the one in the original (Heatblast), aired on September 1, 2007. A third version (in which XLR8 was featured) aired on October 20, 2007. It was stated during the premiere of Alien Force that Secret of the Omnitrix was intended to be the chronological finale of Ben 10, even though it was broadcast long before the last episode, which was not canon.

The second is a live-action film titled Ben 10: Race Against Time[4] which aired November 21, 2007. The plot presumably takes place before Goodbye and Good Riddance, it revolves around Ben, Gwen and Grandpa Max returning to their hometown of Bellwood and attempting to adjust to being 'normal' again. Unfortunately, their lives are once again disrupted by a mysterious alien known as Eon, who has an unexpected connection to the Omnitrix. It premiered on Cartoon Network on November 21, 2007. The film was directed by Alex Winter.[5] Winter stated at the 2007 upfront presentation that he wanted "this thing to look like X-Men," an epic adventure that will be "more cinematic than cartoony" and appeal to all ages. Production on the film finished in October[3] and premiered November 21, 2007. "Ben 10: Alien Swarm" a sequel to Race Against Time premiered November 25, 2009. All the roles were recast from Ben 10 Race Against Time.

Ben 10 Hero Matrix

This is a mini game about Ben 10. Actually, it's not even a game, because there's no challenge in it. All you need to do is to design a Ben 10 style alien using various body parts and colors. First, select the type of the alien and then scroll through its parts changing their shape and color.

Ben 10 Alien Force

This is an adventure game where you are Ben 10. Your cousin Gwen has disappeared and you investigate the case trying to find her. You'll need to talk to different people, find objects and figure out what to do to proceed. Sometimes you'll be asked to play a mini game like pressing the arrows that appear on the Omnitrix or similar.

Ben 10 Cavern Run

In this game Ben 10 is running. You don't control him, but need to make sure he reaches the exit without falling. To do this you need to draw energy lines with your mouse. A line may serve as a floor or as a wall that will turn Ben 10 around. If you make Ben catch a circle with a rhombus he will turn into one of his creatures and will get some new abilities. Collecting circles with + sign gives you bonus.

Ben 10 Critical Impact

This game is based on Ben10 series by Cartoon Network. In this game you must save Earth from falling meteors. You can not do anything about it while you are a common boy, but you are not... Press Z to transform into Heatblast. When you are Heatblast you can press space to shoot and destroy the meteors. However, Heatblast can not do anything about the obstacles on the road. Press X to transform into Ghostfreak and pass through obstacles.

Ben 10 Heat Blast

This is a fan art Ben 10 game. Heat Blast is flying in the air. He's heading forward all the time, but you can move him on the screen with your mouse. You need to avoid enemies you meet on your way or kill them shooting your heat waves. Note that when there's glowing around Heat Blast's hands, you shoot a heavier wave that kills everything on its wave. Otherwise you shoot a smaller wave that disappears after hitting the enemy.

Ben 10 Heat Blast City

In this game Ben 10 uses a weird alien that is something between Heatblast and XLR-8. The alien is running super fast on the road. You guide it with the mouse and shoot clicking. You need to avoid cars and enemies. Earn points shooting the enemies.

Ben 10 Hero Hoops

In this game Ben 10 is playing basketball. The hoops will be moving horizontally in several lines. Ben 10 will run after your mouse cursor. You need to collect a basketball and shoot it clicking the mouse. Each normal basket gives you score. Some hoops have special effects. All effects are positive so try and catch them all.

Ben 10 Jetray

In this game you are controlling the Ben 10's alien called Jetray in the see depths. You need to get as far as possible without touching obstacles. You're always moving forward. Press and hold the left mouse button to go upwards. Release the mouse button to go down. Remember that you have impulse. If you're going in a certain direction fast, it takes time to slow down and start moving in the opposite one.

Ben 10 Kraken Attack

This is another game based on Ben10 series. In this game a monster called Kraken arose from the lake. Your goal is to send it back to the depth transforming into different characters. You constantly run around the lake. Press space to shoot and up arrow key to run in the opposite direction. Avoid Kraken's shots and destroy plasma balls before they land in your path.

Ben 10 Savage Pursuit

This is a new Ben 10 game. Ben10 must pass platform levels full of monsters and exotic obstacles. Ben10 can convert into 4 different creatures and take advantage of their special powers. Many obstacles can not be passed otherwise. Use the arrow keys to run and jump. Press Space to attack or use special powers. Hold Z and press one of the arrow keys to convert into one of the creatures. You can only do it when the meter in the top left corner is full.

Ben 10 Underworld

In this Ben 10 game Ben 10 is saving Gwen from some villain. It's a platformer game. You make Ben jump between platforms controlling him with the arrow keys. You shoot the bad guys with the space bar. Try and help Ben pass the hostile underworld and free Gwen.

Ben 10 Forever Defence

In this Ben 10 game you need to defend your group from evil Forever Knights using the powers of the group's members. You have Ben, Gwen and Kevin. You can press Z for Ben 10, X for Gwen and C for Kevin or Space to cycle between them. Ben has turned himself into one of his aliens and can fire energy balls. Aim with the mouse and click to fire. Gwen can reflect enemy projectiles. You will need to move Gwen with the mouse the way she will catch and reflect the enemy projectiles. Kevin can stop the enemies with shields. There's no other way to stop them, but to wait until they get very close to the group; select Kevin and turn him to the enemy using the mouse.

Ben 10 Power Slash

This is another game based on Ben10 cartoon series. You are a boy with super powers that allow you to transform into fantastic creatures. This time some bad guys are running away with a hostage in a boat. You need to persecute the bad guys and free the hostage. To do so, you first transform into a sea creature and swim under water. At this stage you must avoid all creatures and objects, but powerups. If you survive this stage, you transform into an insect. As an insect you must fly above the boat, shoot the bad guys with green balls and avoid the granades they throw to you.

Ben 10 Savin the Sparks

In this game Ben 10 is fighting a giant robot created by Megawatt. The robot is walking towards the hydro electric dam to power up. You must destroy it before it succeeds. Ben 10 has converted into Heatblast for this purpose. Heatblast is flying on some sort of board and shooting fireballs to the robot. The robot picks up cars and throws them towards Ben 10. Your goal is to avoid these cars and to hit the robot with fire balls. You move Ben 10 with the mouse and shoot fireballs clicking. Note that you need to hit the areas marked by a red circles. Hitting other areas won't harm the robot.

Ben 10 Blockage Blitz

This is a Breakout game with Ben10 as its main character. Ben10 is running after your mouse cursor in the bottom of the screen and needs to bounce the ball. When the ball breaks bricks, bonuses are dropped. Some of these bonuses convert Ben10 into different aliens. Some aliens are wider, others are faster and some can shoot. Click the mouse button when you are a shooting alien to destroy more bricks.
